About Us
Welcome to Aly Charfauros and Greer Inns' Coral Reef Technology Research Website! As we went through the endless amount of scientific research and discoveries it was near impossible to choose amongst the different options; but, as we explored the massive amount of biodiversity and their influence to our modern world, there was no competition. We hope you all find this site informational, helpful and influential towards our world's amazing coral reefs!

What is a coral reef? |
Coral reefs are found all around the world, home to one of the most diverse population of species. These ecosystems are held together by carbonate structures in which its entirety is sustained by the help of the tiny animals and organisms that call it home acting in coercion to keep the whole habitat alive and overflowing with activity! It's not a surprise that these underwater ecosystems are commonly referenced as the "rainforests of the ocean" and types of coral reefs depend on the different types of the organisms and environmental conditions. Their warm climates, mass diversity and clear waters represent one of the most spectacular structures in the world. The coral itself is also a living organism, part of the sessile animal family meaning the coral remains stationary, making it a perfect place for other organisms to live in! Their carbonate structure serves for multiple beneficial reasons including foundation, protection and growth.
